WITH MY HORSE, MOCHA

I bought a mare in 1987 who turned out to be pregnant, so I got a "twofer!"
Mocha still thinks he's a baby. Or a dog. Or a people.
He's my sweetie, is what he is. :-)

THIS IS WILLOW

We've taken in 11 dogs over the years, all rescued and/or adopted from shelters and pounds.
A couple we found other homes for after a while, but most have been our family members all their long, happy lives.
Because of my soft head, soft heart and the magnetic pull the animal shelter has on me,
I'm generally not "allowed" to go there. Willow is a good example of what happens when I break the "rule."
I was only passing by...and only went in for a quick peek, I swear...
Oh, look at her. How could I possibly resist? :-)

THIS IS JOSIE

Josie (aka "Jojo Bear") was found as a pregnant stray in the country north of here. She'd been shot in the hind leg as a pup
and never treated, so her leg is twisted and short. But it doesn't seem to cause her discomfort & she is able to use it a bit
(and even when she doesn't, she gets around just fine!) She was taken in by our local Basset Rescue & animal shelter,
who worked together to find homes for her pups, spay her, and eventually find a home for her with us. :-)

AND THIS IS TESSA!

I found Tess on Petfinder.com (hey, I may not be allowed to go to the animal shelter, but nobody ever said anything
about Petfinder being off limits! LOL) Picked up as a stray in Havre, MT, she was living with a foster family.
I fell in love instantly, lobbied relentlessly, and drove to northern Montana to pick her up three weeks later. :-)
Her name was Gracie, but when she overheard us talking about Tessa, a border collie we met in Scotland,
she reacted to that name with such wiggly excitement that she's been Tessa Grace ever since!
